How to create Shutdown, Restart, Log off and Hibernate shortcut for Windows

Do you want to create windows shutdown or restart shortcut on your windows desktop?If Yes, Then follow the below steps and you will be able to create your customized icon windows shutdown and restart shortcut.

Windows Shortcuts

1. Right click on your desktop and click on new option and then shortcut.

A create shortcut windows will open.

2. Enter the below command in text box of the create shortcut window.

To create shutdown shortcut: shutdown –s –t 00 

To create restart shortcut: shutdown –r –t 00

To create log off shortcut: Shutdown.exe –L

To create Hibernate shortcut: rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState

To create sleep shortcut: rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0

3. Click next and enter a new for your shortcut. By default it will come as shutdown.exe

4. Click Finish.The shortcut is created on your windows desktop.

To Change the Icon of the shutdown shortcut. Follow the below steps.

5. Right click on the shutdown shortcut created on your windows desktop and click on Properties. Properties window will open.

 

 

6. Click on “Change Icon…” . The below message displays. 

7. Click OK and the below Change Icon windows displays.

7. Select an Icon and click on OK. Then Click Apply and OK. Your customized shutdown icon is ready to use. Enjoy and do not forget to post your valuable comments.
